All payments are to be paid on the day of service. This policy will be strictly adhered to.

  • Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

In a word no. Let’s clear some misconceptions up. All lasers are not created equally. There are numerous lasers on the market and all have their pros and cons. One of the reasons VIVIS Luxe laser chose a Soprano laser for treatment is because Soprano lasers are famed for their client comfort. Soprano lasers use the in-motion technique compared to traditional lasers which use the spot method and have a sensation comparable to an elastic band flicking against your skin. The in-motion technique glides across the skin like a paintbrush and the heat gradually builds up, rather than an instant flash of heat. The settings can be adjusted to suit your personal preference for comfort.

  • Is laser hair removal expensive?

That is a very subjective question. What is expensive to you may not be expensive to someone else. One fact is that laser hair removal is very economical in the long run compared to shaving and waxing which only provide temporary results. The initial investment can seem like a lot. We have partnered with Klarna to give you the option to pay in 3 instalments at no extra cost to you.

  • I have seen laser hair removal cheaper elsewhere

We are so confident that we already offer the most competitive pricing for Soprano laser hair removal. If you find another clinic in the area offering Soprano Titanium laser hair removal at a more competitive price than ours, we will better it by an additional 10%. T’s and C’s apply, please see our 10% Price Saving page for more details.

Soprano lasers are considered superior within the industry and for that reason we won’t price match with clinics offering Candela, Lynton or other less known brands.

  • I want my bikini line doing, but I feel a bit embarrassed.

Most people feel a little shy at first. You will have a towel to cover yourself and the towel is repositioned in order to treat each area. You will have the same practitioner for each treatment session and you will get more comfortable as you get to know them. After the first treatment session you will see it’s not as uncomfortable as you first thought and already by the next treatment you will feel more at ease and less embarrassed.

  • Does laser hair removal work on people with PCOS?

PCOS often means that the hairs on your body grow back very quickly. Laser hair removal is often used by people with PCOS to control the hair growth, slow it down and give you more time in between shaving. It’s important that you continue to work with your doctor to find the right medication to balance your hormones.

  • Can I have laser hair removal over my scar?

Laser hair removal over a scar is perfectly fine. The only time when a scar is an issue is if you have a history of keloid scarring. Keloid scars are very thick, pink raised scars. It’s quite likely that if you have never heard the term keloid scarring then you don’t suffer from it. If you are unsure, that’s ok, we can discuss it during your consultation.

  • Can I have laser hair removal over my tattoo?

You cannot have laser hair removal over a tattoo. This includes semi-permanent make-up. If you do have a tattoo, that’s ok, we can work around it, just not over it.

  • Can I have laser hair removal with a tan?

Soprano lasers are the only approved lasers to treat tanned skin. This is great if you like to go on holiday regularly and don’t want to have to sign a tanning policy preventing you from going outside and exposing your skin during the course of treatment (8 months). We can never treat sun burned skin and SPF 30+ must always be applied to your skin.

  • Can I shave between treatments?

Shaving is the only form of hair removal that is permitted during a course of treatment. Shaving cuts the hair at a superficial level and leaves the hair root intact. Waxing, epilating and depilatory creams must not be used during the course of treatment. This will have an adverse reaction to your treatment time and prolong the course duration.

  • Why do I need multiple sessions?

The body is covered in thousand of hairs. Each hair grows on it’s own independent cycle. Anagen - growing phase, Catagen - transitional phase, Telogen - resting phase. Hair must be in the anagen phase for the laser to effectively target it and destroy it. The anagen phase for a scalp hair lasts between 2 and 6 years compared to the anagen phase for a leg hair which lasts between 30 and 45 days. Laser hair removal has to successfully target the hairs at the right time. Consistency is key and it is important to stick to your appointments to get the best results. Once the hair has been targeted in the anlagen phase the hair cells are put into a state of dormancy, much longer than in waxing or shaving.

  • Is laser hair removal safe for black skin?

Yes! The Soprano Titanium laser is extremely sophisticated and very suitable for black skin. The Soprano Titanium combines 3 laser wavelengths, Alexanderite, Diode and ND:YAG. When treating black skin, ND:YAG is required. This laser wavelength ensures that black skin is treated safely and effective results are delivered.

  • What sort of results can I expect?

A strong result of approx 85% reduction of hair is considered a realistic result. There is no such thing as 100% hair removal with laser. In fact the correct terminology for laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction. Your results will be gradual and may seem unnoticeable. After each session a certain number of hairs will be targeted and then these hairs will shed in between your next appointment. You will first notice that your hair is reducing because you’ll likely notice that you aren’t shaving as often as you once were. It’s important to keep a record of how often you shave, it’s easy to forget and think that the treatment isn’t working. Laser hair removal is not a quick fix, patience is key.

  • When will I start to notice results?

Everybody’s body is different, some people notice after the very first session, some people after 3 sessions and some people don’t really notice until nearer the end of the course. It just depends on your hair to begin with and the individual speed of your body hair growth. The definition of a good result is 60-85% reduction in body hair. You must remember that 100% hair removal is not possible with any laser, there will always be a few stubborn hairs, but hopefully these will be much finer and softer than before laser hair removal.

  • Is laser hair removal permanent?

Yes, laser hair removal offers permanent hair reduction. After your course of treatments the air in the area will be significantly reduced and any remaining hairs will be softer, sparser and finer. After 12 months form your last session you are advised to book an annual one-off top-up session to maintain your results for years to come.

  • Can I have laser hair removal during my period?

Yes you can, you can even have your bikini line treated, it would just make more sense if you wore a tampon or a menstrual cup. Around the time of your period, your skin may be a little more sensitive, so let your practitioner know so the settings can be adjusted to make your more comfortable.

  • Is your clinic LGBTQ+ Friendly?

Yes we are! VIVIS Luxe Laser is an inclusive laser hair removal clinic and we welcome all. If there is anything we can do to make your experience with us more comfortable, please let us know. It is important that you enjoy coming to the clinic for your treatment.

  • Can men have laser hair removal?

Yes, of course. Backs, shoulders, chests, abdomens, and front and back of the neck are popular areas for laser hair removal treatment on men. Body hair is a personal choice if you don’t like hairy legs or arms on yourself, that’s your choice and we can certainly help you achieve your body hair goals. We don’t offer intimate laser hair removal on men.

  • Do you apply a numbing cream?

No, instead a transmission gel is applied which cools the skin and helps the laser glide across your skin. Most people can tolerate the sensation of laser hair removal. But if you’re particularly sensitive, you can take a paracetamol 30 minutes before your treatment.

  • How does your clinic demonstrate sustainability?

We try to reduce our carbon footprint where we can. For cross contamination reasons we use new disposable razors on each client if they missed a few hairs. All of our razors are sent to Terra Cycle to be recycled. Once collected, the waste is broken down and separated by material. Plastics are cleaned and pelleted to be recycled into new products, such as picnic tables and park benches. Metal materials are sent for smelting and conversion to new alloys.

We also have stopped using wooden spatulas to spread gel onto clients. We now have a reusable silicone spatula which is sterilised between uses. We don’t see the point in cutting trees down to make disposable spatulas.

We are always looking to improve our sustainability. If you have any other ideas, we would love to know and do our bit for the planet.

  • Is laser hair removal better than electrolysis?

It depends. Laser hair removal is incredible at treating large areas very quickly and laser hair removal on the whole is virtually pain-free. You will get an 85% permanent hair reduction with laser hair removal.

Electrolysis is better suited to small areas, such as the chin, where you want a 100% removal or where the hair is white or grey. Electrolysis is not known to be comfortable.

The best course of action is as follows. Follow are course of laser hair removal on your target area. This quickly and vastly permanently reduces the hair in the area. if there are some very fine and light coloured hair that still remains that you want removing, now would be the time to proceed with electrolysis. Doing it this way will save you time, money and pain in the long run yet give you superb results.

Most people after a course of laser hair removal, don’t ever feel the need to move onto electrolysis afterwards, this is something that can be discussed with your laser practitioner.

  • Do you offer additional treatments in your clinic?

Yes we do, we offer Hydrafacial facials. Please visit our Hydrafacial page for more info.
